Westcountry Blacksmith Lupine This perennial is a ‘Proven Winners’ plant.
Westcountry Blacksmith Lupine is an extremely hardy lupine bearing spikes of pea-shaped, royal purple and white flowers in late spring to midsummer. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees are attracted to the lupine flower and deer dislike it. The bright green leaves that resemble palm fronds form a nice dense mound. Westcountry Blacksmith Lupine will grow from 2' to 3' tall and 2' wide.
Westcountry Blacksmith Lupine prefers cooler conditions, so plant in a cooler area of your planting bed. Westcountry Blacksmith Lupine prefers loamy rich, well drained soil. Plant in a border, or a mass planting in a perennial bed. It is great for a cut flower. This plant is toxic if ingested so don't plant if you have small children that may get to them.
