Vivid Violet Pincushion Flower
Vivid Violet Pincushion Flower forms a low mound of ferny greyish-green foliage. Puff ball like pinkish-violet flowers appear in early summer and will bloom to early fall. It will grow to a height of 10" to 14" in height and 12" to 18" in width. Plant Vivid Violet Pincushion Flower in full sun and well drained soil. Be sure to remove fading flowers to encourage continuous blooming.
Use Vivid Violet Pincushion Flower as an edging plant, massed in a perennial bed, in a Cottage Garden or in a Rock Garden. It will attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees while in bloom. Deer don't really like this plant and it is drought tolerant once it is established. Try this one in a container for color on a sunny deck throughout the summer.
