Showy Mountain Ash
Showy Mountain Ash has grayish, smooth bark. Its leaves turn yellow, orange, and red in autumn. Flowers are white followed by berries that are red and 1/4 inch in diameter. It puts on a great show in late spring with its white flowers and again in late summer through fall with red berries that persist through the winter.
The berries attract birds and are a favorite food and highly prized by the red-headed woodpecker, robin, and bluebird. Showy Mountain Ash is also a Firewise plant. Showy Mountain Ash likes to be planted in full sun.
