Russian Sage
Russian Sage is a favorite perennial for the garden. It has fragrant gray-green leaves and lavender-blue blooms. It will bloom from early summer to early fall. This perennial will grow to a height of 1' to 3' tall and just as wide. Russian Sage likes to be planted in full sun and well-drained soil. It will become drought tolerant once it is established.
When Russian Sage is in bloom, it will attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The deer don't like this one. Use Russian Sage in a perennial border, as a specimen plant, massed in a perennial bed, or in a Rock Garden. Russian Sage was named “Plant of the Year” by the Perennial Plant Association in 1995. It is also a Firewise Plant.
