Firewise Plants
Firewise plants are plants that are less susceptible to burning or feeding a fire that may be threatening your home or structures. They contain less or no volatile oils or fire accelerants that may be in other plants. Use the plants listed below to plan your landscape if you live in a higher fire danger area such as grasslands or forests.
Always keep a 30' or more cleared area around your home clean of debris, pine needles, leaves, tall dry grass, or other burnable items. This area will also give Firefighters a better chance of saving your home or structures in the event of a wildfire that may be threatening your home or property.
Protecting your home begins with keeping your property clean and then by choosing the right plants for your Firewise landscape.
