Red Duchess Apple ripens earlier than other varieties. It produces apples in to late summer. Red Duchess Apple needs a cross pollinator. It will cross with Honeycrisp, Gala, Prairie Magic, or Liberty. Fruit trees attract wildlife, birds, and bees. Red Duchess apples are good for fresh eating, making jams, jellies, sauces, and pies.
