Pansy
Pansies are cool season annuals that are the first flowers in the spring that we can plant outside without worry of frost. They will survive down to about 27 degrees with no damage. Worryfree, these little beauties can brighten up containers, baskets, and annual planting beds. Use them for borders, or mass plant them for some great color.
When it gets hot, they will go semi-dormant until the weather gets cooler when they will come out for a second round of blooming before heavy frosts or freezing. If they are in a cool area or a shady location, they may go all summer. Plant in full sun to partial sun in well drained soil.
Pansies are edible so you can toss them in salads for some color or they make great decorations on cakes. Use Pansies as a Filler in containers or baskets.
