Black Elderberry has deep green leaves which are adorned in summer with white blossoms that attacts pollinator bees and butterflies. Clusters of black-purple berries develop in the summer. These berries make great jam, pies, and wine.
Birds and wildlife are attracted to the berries. Place bird netting over the shrub to protect the berries if you wish to harvest the berries. Elderberries are high in antioxidants, vitamins and other nutritional value. Black Elderberry likes to be planted in full sun to part shade.
