The Flame Embers Maple is usually a multi stemmed tree. It has a fiery red autumn color. Its summer color is green and produces bright red samaras or 'helicopters' in midsummer. They are extremely hardy and drought resistant once established. They also make an excellent screen or hedge. They are best grown in normal soil in full sun to partial shade. Their uses are mainly as accents, hedge, and screening. They are a vigorous grower that is very tolerant of temperature extremes.
