Black Tower Elderberry
Black Tower Elderberry is a larger growing variety of Elderberry. It is a deciduous shrub that has dark purple leaves. It will reach heights of 6' to 8' tall and 3' to 4' wide. In the spring Black Tower Elderberry will be adorned with pink blossoms that mature into blackish red berries in the fall. You can make the berries into Elderberry wine, jam, or preserves.
Black Tower Elderberry will attract wildlife for the berries. It also makes a good choice for giving some texture to an indoor flower arrangement by using a sprig or two of the branches. Black Tower Elderberry can also be used in a hedge planting or for screening. Plant Black Tower Elderberry in Woodland Garden in well drained soil. Plant in full sun to part shade.
