Lemon Balm
Lemon Balm is a very aromatic herb that has a lemony fragrance when the leaves are brushed or crushed. It has light green leaves and will form a mound from 1' to 3' tall and 20" to 24" wide. Lemon Balm is grown as an annual in our area. Plant Lemon Balm in full sun to partial sun in well drained soil.
Use Lemon Balm in an herb garden, Cottage Garden, planted in containers, or next to a patio or window where you can enjoy the fragrance. During the summer, it will produce white blossoms that attract bees, so be sure to plant this in or near a vegetable garden for increasing pollination. Lemon Balm is deer resistant and drought tolerant once it is established.
Use Lemon Balm in cold or hot iced tea, or dry the leaves and use in potpourris.
