Common Privet
Common Privet is a fast-growing, hardy shrub that can be pruned to any shape. The leaves are dark green with no change in fall color. It grows to a height of 10' to 15' tall and 8' to 10' wide but can be kept at your desired height by pruning and trimming. It works great as a hedge, in a shrub border, foundation planting or as a background shrub. This shrub can be trimmed year-round to any shape desired. Common Privet likes to be planted in full sun to partial sun.
In spring, white scented blossoms will appear which produce small, round black berries that persist into the winter. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the flowers. Wildlife and birds are attracted to the berries.
