Kokanee Raspberry
Kokanee Raspberry is a vigorous plant that bears fruit in late summer. It produces medium red, firm fruit that are sweet. The canes are upright and prickly. Dark green leaves turn yellow and orange in the fall. It will grow to a height of 3' to 5' tall and 2' to 3' wide. Keep the raspberries watered well during fruit ripening stage to ensure large berries.
Prune second-year canes to the ground in fall. This will result in better quality, larger fruit the following season. Kokanee Raspberry is great for fresh eating, canning, freezing, or baking. The berries will attract wildlife and birds. It you wish to harvest the berries, use a bird net to cover the berries as they ripen. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the flowers.
