Red Maple is a large deciduous tree that has brilliant red fall color. It will grow to a height of 40' to 60' tall and 35' to 45' wide. The leaves are a dark green. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Keep these trees away from sidewalks or driveways as their roots can spread close to the surface and buckle sidewalks or driveways.
Use this tree as a shade tree or as a specimen tree for the fall color. It will attract bees in the spring and is deer resistant. It will become drought tolerant once it is established and is a Firewise plant.
