Lowscape Chokeberry is a low growing deciduous shrub that is very hardy. It will grow from 1' to 2' tall and 18" to 24" wide. It has hundreds of white flowers in the spring producing black berries in late summer to fall. Lowscape Chokeberry leaves turn a brilliant red in the fall. You can process the berries and make jam. But wait until after a frost or two as the berries will sweeten after some freezing. Birds are attracted to the berries, if there are any left after you pick for jam.
Lowscape Chokeberry is deer resistant, drought tolerant, and makes a good low hedge. It is also great for erosion control.
