Genovese Basil is a fast growing annual herb that has very fragrant leaves used in cooking, fresh eating or dried. Basil is great for making Pesto. For a continuous supply of tender young foliage, plant in succession through season. Use Genovese Basil for culinary use or display as edging, in mixed plantings, Cottage Garden, or containers. 

Genovese Basil Basil will grow to 12" to 24" tall and 10" to 14" wide. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Genovese Basil is deer resistant. 

This herb is very tender in our area. Be sure to protect it by bringing it indoors or covering it when there is any danger of frost. Despite its tenderness, it is a great and easy herb to grow. You can even grow it indoors on a sunny windowsill throughout the year in a small container.
