Red Pontiac Potato is a great potato for baking, potato dishes, new potatoes, or fresh eating. They rounded or slightly oblong. The skin is thin making this a great potato for cooking with roasts and baked dishes with unpeeled potatoes.
Cut out the eyes and plant in the soil. One seed potato will usually supply about 3 to 5 eyes. Plant in full sun and well drained soil. Be sure to cover up the new tubers that appear at the base of the plant with additional soil or straw. Sunlight on the tubers will cause them to turn green. Red Pontiac Potato will grow from 15" to 18" tall and just as wide. Harvest in the fall when frost has killed the top part of the plant. Matures in about 80 days.
