Red Rum Lupine This perennial is a Proven Winner’s Plant
Red Rum Lupine is a lupine bearing spikes of pea-shaped, solid red flowers in midspring to early summer. Hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to the lupine flower and deer dislike it. The bright green leaves that resemble palm fronds form a nice dense mound. Red Rum Lupine will grow from 2' to 3' tall and 18" to 2' wide.
Red Rum Lupine prefers cooler conditions, so plant in a cooler area of your planting bed. Red Rum Lupine prefers loamy rich, well drained soil. Plant in a border, or a mass planting in a perennial bed. It is great for a cut flower. This plant is toxic if ingested so don't plant if you have small children that may get to them.
