Cowpinkie Rock Cress
Cowpinkie Rock Cress is a popular spring-flowering perennial. It will form a low mound of dark green foliage that remains evergreen through the winter. From late spring to early summer this ground cover perennial explodes with pink flowers for several weeks. It will grow to a height of 6" to 8" tall and 12" to 24" wide.
Use Cowpinkie Rock Cress in a rock garden, cascading over walls, as an edging plant, massed in a perennial bed, or in containers. You can even plant this on the edge of a Woodland Garden where it will get some sunlight. Trim the plants lightly immediately after blooming, to encourage a full, thick mounding habit. Cowpinkie Rock Cress is deer resistant, drought tolerant once it is established, and is also a Firewise plant. It will attract butterflies when in bloom and makes a great cut flower for filling in around longer stems in a vase.
