Cora Louise Peony

Cora Louise Peony is an Itoh Peony. Itoh Peonies are a rare and unusual hybrids between Garden Peonies and Tree Peonies. This variety is a collectors item. It is easy to grow and is a very hardy Peony well suited for our high mountain environment. It has deep green foliage with semi-double light pink blossoms with lavender to purple flares. It will grow from 24" to 28" tall and 28" to 36" wide. This peony has a mild fragrance.
Plant Cora Louise Peony in full sun in well drained soil. When in flower, it will attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It makes a great cut flower for an indoor table vase. For an interesting display of the flowers, cut one about an inch from the bloom and float it in a bowl of water.
Peonies are also deer resistant. Plant Cora Louise Peony in a Cottage Garden, as a specimen, or in a perennial border. Mulch heavily in the fall to protect the roots.
