Contorted Filbert
Contorted Filbert is also known as Harry Lauder's Walking Stick. It is a decidiuous shrub that will grow from 8' to 10' tall and just as wide. You can train this shrub into a small tree form by pruning the branches. The reason it is called a 'Contorted' Filbert is due to it growth habit and leaves. The branches go all different directions as they grow and the leaves are also contorted. This shrub makes a very interesting addtions to any landscape.
In spring, long catkins will adorn the twisted branches. Use Contorted Filbert in a hedge or as a specimen plant. It also had much winter interest with snow on the twisted branches.
