Blue Cross Gentain can be a difficult plant to grow, but this variety is so hardy that any gardener will succeed with this plant. It will grow from 8" to 12" tall and 12" to 18" wide. It forms a low clump of large dark green leaves which bears arching stems bearing small bright, deep blue flowers in late summer. Blue Cross Gentain likes to be planted in full sun to part shade in well drained soil.
Blue Cross Gentain is drought tolerant once it is established and will work well planted in a container, Rock Garden, Woodland Garden, or landscape bed. Blue Cross Gentain also makes an excellent cut flower.
